We love recognising the great work that’s happening in our region — especially when businesses are choosing sustainable, recycled construction materials like ours!
So, this month, we wanted to feature a few projects you may or may not be aware of. You might be surprised to hear just how much of MBR’s product is out in the wild… playing a role in quite a few big, exciting new developments.
And perhaps these will inspire other businesses to see how they can include recycled concrete in a project that’s coming up in 2023.
Construction company, Tailored Projects, is using our CBR45 for two projects in Chrome Ct, Burpengary — including a large showroom and production sheds for a car hoist company.
The team have recently collected more than 260 tonnes of recycled construction materials from Moreton Bay Recycling. Plus, they’ve disposed of concrete waste materials at the Moreton Bay Recycling site. The CBR45 was used for slab prep, and to cap the sites to make them more accessible for general traffic and concrete pours.
Tailored Projects are happy with the finished product and plan to get more in the coming days.
It’s been a busy start to the year, with H Troon starting dedicated work on the new Petstock Caboolture on Pumicestone Road, next to Caboolture Bunnings. In January, they moved over 265 tonnes of CBR45 product onsite to help prepare surfaces for heavy vehicles, concrete works, and slabs.
Previously, our drainage product was used to support the construction of the new Bunnings, which opened its doors on January 27.
Utilities – Water & Sewage
Civil Construction company, Hollcon, have recently delivered 189 tonnes of CBR15/CBR45 to the Caboolture Sewage Treatment Plant. Plus, they’ve delivered product to the Morayfield Unity Water Depot, with more deliveries booked.
Local earthmoving and quarry supplies company, All Quarry Solutions, uses our crusher dust for slab prep on home builder sites, working with local builders like Plantation Homes and Hallmark Homes. During January, Chris from All Quarry Solutions delivered several loads of our crusher dust to new build residential construction sites in the Ridgeview Narangba estate.
Long-time Moreton Bay Recycling customer, David Wright & Sons are dedicated to reclaiming the bulk of building materials from their demolition sites. During January, they sent 315 cubic metres of concrete waste to the MBR facility for recycling.
School Building Demolition
Chris and the team from Bunneys Demolition recently completed a large school building demolition at Clayfield College. This three story brick and concrete building was originally the International Motel and would have been well-recognised by anyone who regularly travels along Sandgate Road.
As part of this demo, the team at Bunneys extracted old concrete from the site to recycle with MBR. They also used our recycled concrete after the site was cleared to improve drainage and vehicle access.
New Shed Build
Kevin from K & G Fabcrete recently had the MBR team deliver 160 tonnes of CBR15 to a property in Dayboro. The team are using the product for slab prep, ready for a new 12 x 14m shed build. Kevin likes to use MBR’s recycled construction materials because they’re high quality and easy to use — and he believes our price is low cost and competitive (music to our ears!).
Is 2023 your year to start using more recycled construction materials for your projects? With your help, we’d love to see more of our sustainable products in the wild — and now is the perfect time to get started…
